WinAliasManager: Launch Apps From Run Command

We all know that using keyboard shortcuts is the best way to significantly improve the productivity. Majority of Windows users are aware of the Run command (use Windows + R to launch) and how to use the same to launch system native programs, admin tools and other areas. Wouldn’t it be nice if we could launch installed third-party applications right from the Run dialog just by typing the program name and then pressing the enter key? As some of you may know, it’s actually possible to launch applications from the Run dialog by creating Run command shortcuts for applications. WinAliasManager is a small utility from our friend at the WinAero website. The program helps you create alias for your favourite applications so that you can launch those applications right from the Run dialog. The program lets you specify alias for any number of applications. To add a new program, click Add button, enter the alias for the software, browse to the program’s executable file, and finally click Ok to create alias for your program. For instance, to create alias for Mozilla Firefox browser, click Add button, enter Firefox as alias, browse to Firefox.exe file located in Program Files/ Mozilla Firefox folder, and then click Ok button. One can edit, rename or delete the alias by WinAliasManager just by right-clicking on the application in the list and then clicking appropriate option. Enable “Work with system-wide aliases” option in the home screen to view list of all programs with alias. This program is extremely useful for Windows 8 users, especially for those who don’t like the new Start screen. By creating alias for all your installed applications, you can launch programs without leaving the desktop or switching to the Start screen. WinAliasManager supports Windows XP, Vista, Windows 7 and Windows 8, both x86 and x64 systems. The only limitation of the program is that you can’t use numbers and symbols for alias. That is, it supports letters only. Download WinAliasManager
