Use CCleaner To Uninstall Pre-Installed Windows 10 Apps

Windows 10 ships with universal apps like Mail, Store, Photos, Your Phone, Paint 3D, and Photos. Some of these apps, like Your Phone and Store, are truly useful, and most users are happy with them. Windows 10, by default, doesn’t allow you to uninstall these native apps via the standard method. Although it’s possible to uninstall very few apps like 3D Builder and Get Skype by right-clicking on respective entries and clicking Uninstall, it’s not possible to uninstall other apps like Mail and Store by following the standard uninstall procedure. Remove native Windows 10 apps with CCleaner Up until now, to uninstall default apps in Windows 10, users needed to execute a command in elevated PowerShell but not anymore. Users who are not familiar with the PowerShell or users who don’t want to use the advanced method can now use the popular CCleaner to uninstall preinstalled or native apps from the Windows 10 as well as Windows 8/8.1. CCleaner, starting from version 5.11, enables you to uninstall preinstalled apps, and apps installed from Store with a mouse click. As you likely know, the free program already supports uninstalling traditional desktop programs. Uninstalling preinstalled apps is extremely easy with CCleaner. Launch CCleaner, click Tools and then click and then click Uninstall (selected by default) to view all installed traditional programs as well as apps. Right-click on the app that you want to uninstall and then click the Uninstall button. Click the Uninstall button again when you see the confirmation dialog box to uninstall the app. As expected, CCleaner doesn’t list Edge and Cortana in the apps list as these preinstalled apps can’t be uninstalled even via PowerShell. If you want to get off Edge from your Windows 10 machine, please refer to our how to uninstall and remove Edge from Windows 10 guide for detailed instructions. Although it’s easy to reinstall all native apps, please don’t uninstall the Store app if you plan to install new apps or reinstall native apps in the future.
