Fix: Store App Is Not Opening In Windows 10

Like its predecessor, Windows 10 also allows users to download and install apps from the Store. The official Store app that ships with Windows 10 can be used to browse, search and install apps from the Store. The Store app has been redesigned in Windows 10 and is easy-to-navigate compared to the previous version of the Store app. Since the release of Windows 10, many users are experiencing issues with the native Store app. Many times, the Store app launches but doesn’t load. The circle keeps on spinning but the Store doesn’t load even after a couple of minutes. Others are getting erros while opening the Store app. If you’re also unable to load or open the Store app in Windows 10, you can try out the following fixes. IMPORTANT: Before trying any of the given below solutions, we recommend you restart your Windows 10 PC as it might magically fix the issue. Fix 1 of 5 Reset the Store app via Settings Recent versions of Windows 10 allow you to reset the Store app so that you can automatically fix possible issues with ease. Resetting the Store app will delete all data stored by the Store app and sign you out of the app. You might need to sign in again after the reset. Step 1: Navigate to Settings > Apps > Apps & features. Step 2: Look for the Microsoft Store entry and then click on it to reveal the hidden Advanced options link. Click the link. Step 3: Scroll down to see the Reset section. Click on the Reset button and click the Reset button again when you see the pop up to reset the Store app immediately. Fix 2 of 5 Clear the Store cache If resetting the Store app did not help you fix the problem, clear the Store cache. Fix 3 of 5 Run Windows Store Apps troubleshooter Windows 10 ships with many troubleshooters to fix various common issues. One of the troubleshooter is Windows Store Apps. The Windows Store Apps troubleshooter should help you fix command issues with the the apps installed from the Store, including the built-in Store app. Navigate to Settings > Update & Security > Troubleshoot page to finx teh Windows Store Apps troubleshooter. Fix 4 of 5 Reinstall the Store via Command Prompt Step 1: Open Command Prompt as administrator. To do so, type CMD in the search box and then simultaneously press Ctrl + Shift + Enter keys. Alternatively, type CMD in the search box to see Command Prompt in the search results, right-click on the Command Prompt, and then click Run as administrator option. Step 2: In the administrator Command Prompt, copy and paste the following command. The Windows 10’s Command Prompt supports copy and paste, unlike previous versions! PowerShell -ExecutionPolicy Unrestricted -Command “& {$manifest = (Get-AppxPackage Microsoft.WindowsStore).InstallLocation + ‘AppxManifest.xml’ ; Add-AppxPackage -DisableDevelopmentMode -Register $manifest}” Once the command is executed, close the Command Prompt window. You should now be able to open and load the Store now. Fix 5 of 5 Create another user account If the Store is not opening even after applying the above fix, creating a new user account might resolve the issue. This is because, all modern apps, including the Store app, work great on a newly created user account. To create a new local user account or Microsoft user account, please navigate to Settings app > Accounts > Family and other users and click Add someone else to this PC.
