Add Shut Down, Restart, & Hibernate To Start Screen In Windows 8

Accessing shut down options in Windows 7 and Vista was very simple. One could access them by clicking on the Start orb and then clicking on the small triangle next to the Shut down button located in the lower right-hand side of the Start menu. But in Windows 8 one needs to perform more steps to access shut down options. It’s a well-known fact that the Start menu has been removed from Windows 8 and shut down options (shut down, restart, hibernate, & sleep) have been moved to the settings charm, which can be accessed by moving mouse cursor to the upper-right corner of the screen and then clicking Settings. Users who want to quickly access shut down options have a few choices in Windows 8. One can add all these options to the Win + X menu with the help of Windows 8 Power Shortcuts utility or install ViStart program to get back the old-style Start menu. Another option is to switch to desktop and then press Alt + F4 keys to bring up shut down dialog. People who would like to access all power options right from the Start screen may use a small tool named System Power Shortcuts to get shut down, restart, sleep, sign-off, lock, and hibernate tiles on the Start screen. Just download and run the setup of the program to add all these shortcuts to the Start screen. You can remove one or more shortcuts from the Start screen by right-clicking on the tile you wish to remove and then clicking Unpin from Start option from the app bar, which appears at the bottom of the screen. One can also pin a tile to the Taskbar by right-clicking and then selecting Pin to taskbar option. The program works on both x86 and x64 systems. Download System Power Shortcuts
